We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead our Maintenance team! Our Maintenance Manager is accountable for the safety, leadership, culture, and results for the department.

You will lead a team of Millwrights, Electricians, Supervisors, and Maintenance Support staff. You will own the maintenance budget, and participate in Capital Improvement Projects. You will support and engage with the Quality, Production, and Warehouse to deliver objectives.

Knowledge & skillsExperience
  • You have at least 3-5 years of experience as a supervisor or similar role
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a maintenance environment

  • 5th Class Steam Engineering certification
  • Continuous Improvement Experience

things you will do…
  • Organize maintenance work assignments within appropriate timeframes and manage the department budget
  • Lead, coach and develop your maintenance team
  • Set-up, maintain, and manage preventative maintenance systems, inspection routines, scheduling, training and more
  • Be key contact for unplanned breakdown maintenance tasks
  • Coordinate contractors’ activities and uphold communication with stakeholders as needed
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and safety objectives

  • You may on occasion work at varied times as the job requires and work across multiple facilities

Detailed Description of Duties:
  • Manage maintenance department on tasks in the plant for both day to day and long term goals
  • Develop and manage the yearly maintenance budget
  • Monitor and report on budget status, inventory status, and mechanical downtime
  • Lead, coach and develop your maintenance team
  • Set-up, maintain, and be responsible for preventable maintenance systems, inspection routines, job scheduling, training, and identification of plant improvement plans for improved efficiencies and yield
  • Ensure compliance of all applicable standards, programs: Safety, Environmental, Quality, PM’s, SOP’s, Manufacturing procedures and goals
  • Coordinate contractors’ activities as required
  • Ensure contractor WCB approvals, plant safety program orientation, and confidentiality statements
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and safety objectives
  • Backup for Maintenance department when required
  • Ensure implementation of the Preventive Maintenance Program
  • Ensure system for timely completion of Maintenance Repairs and Minor Production Improvements
  • Complete performance reviews for direct reports
  • Take a leadership role in the local management team
  • Bring forth new ideas to improve on existing production processes
  • Ensure yearly code inspection certificates are acquired (Elec. permit, Boiler inspections, Fire Alarm Inspection, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
